Susan A. Fine graduated Magna Cum Laude from NC State University in 1986 and received her Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 1997. While a law student she received the Marian Wright Edelmann Public Service Award for her volunteer work. She also excelled in moot court and trial practice competitions. Her team took second in the multi-state regional competition held in Atlanta in 1996. This training and experience has served her well in her courtroom practice. She is licensed in five states (Tennessee, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Colorado and North Carolina), and has maintained her solo practice primarily serving Wake and surrounding counties for 18 years.

Ms. Fine’s areas of practice include foreclosure and collection law, property law and Home Owners Association representation, family law, estates and criminal defense. Ms. Fine is an active member of the following professional organizations: the North Carolina State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, the 10th Judicial District Bar Association, the13th Judicial District Bar Association, and the Brunswick County Bar Association. Ms. Fine serves clients in the following North Carolina Counties: Brunswick, Columbus, Bladen, Robeson and New Hanover.

Susan was raised in Colorado and, as a child traveled around the world with her Air Force family. She has called North Carolina her home since 1984. In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, kayaking, nature walks, listening to most styles of music, playing the violin and reading.

In Raleigh, she was the Volunteer Coordinator for Hopeline 24-hour suicide prevention line and was also involved with The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program of North Carolina to provide tax preparation services to low income individuals.

Ms. Fine is the newest attorney with Watts Law Group PLLC, joining in January 2017, relocating to Shallotte from the Raleigh area.

Susan takes pride in active listening and assisting her clients in determining all of the choices for their particular legal need, then expeditiously and effectively moving the resolution toward the desired result.
